How Mulmit makes its numbers
Last reviewed September 21, 2026
Mulmit aligns public records that arrive on different clocks and in different units, then shows only comparisons the available data can support. This document explains where each value starts, which rules it passes through, and where interpretation must stop.
The short version: missing observations are not estimated, official closes are not mixed with out-of-hours references, and an undefined valuation multiple is not displayed as a low number.
Post-filing performance starts at a fixed close
Mulmit first checks whether a filing arrived while its exchange was open. A filing received after the close cannot affect that session, so the next trading session becomes the first possible reaction window. Calendar dates alone are not treated as equivalent.
The official close of that first eligible session is fixed as the reference. Equal trading-session windows are measured from it; weekends and exchange holidays do not count. Suspensions and other periods without a valid close are not silently bridged.
The result records what followed a filing. It does not claim that the filing caused the move: the broad market, the industry and unrelated news may all have mattered.
A–E grades are relative industry positions
Debt means something different for a bank and a manufacturer, and a growth company does not share the same margin baseline as a mature utility. Companies are therefore compared only with data-bearing peers in the same industry.
Profitability, growth, valuation and stability measures are converted to percentile positions with their direction preserved. Higher profitability ranks upward; lower valuation multiples and leverage rank upward. A means the upper end of that peer group and E the lower end, not a recommendation.
PER is undefined for a loss and PBR loses its normal meaning when equity is negative. Those states are left blank instead of being presented as unusually cheap. No composite is made from fewer than three usable measures.
Official closes and 24-hour references are different markets
Korean official closes are stored from finalized Financial Services Commission data. They are not live quotes and can arrive on the following business day because of the public-data relay.
Out-of-hours references come from overseas extended venues or synthetic perpetual markets. They are not fills on the security's home exchange and may reflect different liquidity, currency and product structure. Mulmit therefore labels the value as a reference and shows its source and timestamp separately.
When a won conversion is needed, the exchange rate is aligned as closely as possible with the price timestamp. A historical close and a current FX rate are not silently combined.
Financial values use matching periods
PER divides market capitalization by net income and PBR divides it by equity. Four available quarters form a trailing-twelve-month denominator; otherwise the latest fiscal year is used and labelled. Different reporting periods and currencies are normalized before comparison.
A later restatement updates the current record, but it is not backfilled into an earlier prediction as if the revised number had been known then. Stale or incomplete inputs cause the calculation to be omitted rather than estimated.
Text keeps source material separate from interpretation
The FOMC comparison first performs a sentence-level diff between consecutive statements. Because much of each statement is reused, additions and removals are more informative than presenting every release as an entirely new document. The original release and vote remain linked beside any explanation.
News items may be clustered when their headlines concern the same event, but article bodies are not copied. Mulmit keeps the title, publisher, time and source link, and does not treat several reports as independent confirmation without evidence.
AI-generated summaries and league decisions are constrained to supplied figures and public records. Output that fails its required shape or evidence checks is discarded; where a previous value remains, the screen says so.
Unknown stays unknown
Collection delay, suspension, a small sample and an upstream outage are different causes, but none justifies inventing a value. Missing periods are not filled with the last observation, unlike sources are not silently mixed, and future values are not interpolated.
A dash, “no current quote,” or “no data to display” is therefore a result: no value was verifiable for that scope and time. The basis date and source shown with each section define its freshness and limits.
